Summary: Texas Ranger Jensen Ackles always walks into a new town the same way – with two eyes open and one hand on his gun. He’s worked dozens of these jobs across the Union of Seceded States, in small towns and big cities, scrubbing the streets clean of the bad elements before moving on to the next job with his ornery pup, Mo, riding shotgun. Jensen’s personally assigned to Idle, Colorado by his captain to protect the interests of a rising star in the world of Union politics, and he quickly finds that Idle’s not as quaint as it seems on paper. Idle is rotting from the inside-out and Jensen’s got to make sense of the situation before the bodies start turning up. Throw in a missing Sheriff, two deputies Jensen isn’t sure he can trust, and Jared, the local doctor who keeps getting involved in Jensen’s business, and this job’s bound to be a wild ride.

A big bang from last year that's a real treat. I really love big bangs because that's when the creative juices begin flowing. Producing fics with unique plots and storylines. Ones we've never seen and never even thought of before.

Kelleigh doesn't disappoint with her ingenious story bout an alternate U.S History and Texas Marshalls. It's another great what if case about what if U.S history went down differently, and this is the result. She keeps her characters and scenary grounded in this reality, it's fascinating see her explain why the world is the way it is and how it became that way, and how the people adapt to it now. Jared as a doctor is brilliant and his sassy calm demeanor is a pleasure to read. Jensen is rather hard and morose on the outside but he lets Jared get under his skin and discovers something he'd never think he get.

The best has to be the art that accompanies with it. It really brings this wonderful story to life. And Mo the most cutest pup that rides shotgun with Jensen, you'll find yourself awwing over him more than Jared and Jensen! It's real special when an author can create a great second hand character that's not even human. Mo adds a lot of spark and life to this wonderful tale as well.
